Today voters decided to pass the proposed Teachers Levy or Measure 3-599, to fund 180 teaching positions in the North Clackamas School District. This will also help maintain current class sizes which will prevent classes overflowing and keep the quality of education to its highest standard. The Measure passed with 71.54% support with a total number of 18,733 votes. For the past 5 years, the district has been funded by a levy passed in 2018. This measure is set to expire on June 30th 2024. The new measure will also last 5 years, and will not raise existing tax rates, taxpayers will pay the same as they do now. The Levy will generate about $25 million during those 5 years, and all 180 teaching jobs will be kept.
