Fortnite Gaming

The company Epic Games created Fortnite in early July of 2017.   Shortly after the game was released the interest blew up with record sales.  Epic Games reported Fortnite had 3.4 million concurrent players. Fortnite is a 100 player online battle royale game where you parachute into a map and look for weapons to fight enemies. The last person standing wins. Fortnite keeps its fans entertained by adding new weapons often. Fortnite is trying to expand its community by making the game cross platform, meaning PS4, Xbox One, PC, and IOS/Android can all play together.

No one can really figure out why the game is so popular but there are a few reasons that could be contributing to the massive growth of the game. One thing that makes the game stand out is that it is free. Making a game free will attract a lot of people to the game because if they don’t like the game they can just delete the game without losing any money. Another reason could be the frequent updates. Many people don’t like waiting a long time for games to add new items but Fortnite comes out with weekly updates providing players with new weapons and sometimes new game modes. Fortnite is still on the upswing and doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
